Turnaround Over, It's Spicejet's Time to Grow

The mega deal with Boeing for 205 planes by SpiceJet marks the beginning of the carrier’s growth story for the future.

When at the end of December 2016, Boeing booked an order for 100 of its 737 MAX jets from an unidentified customer, speculations were rife that those planes were destined for India’s SpiceJet. Bringing all speculation to rest, the Low Cost Carrier (LCC) and Boeing announced in the beginning of this year a deal for the purchase of up to 205 airplanes. The order, the biggest in SpiceJet’s history, is also the largest commercial aircraft deal for Boeing in the country.
