Airbus Helicopters reported a 27 percent increase in civil and para-public orders in the first half of this year, brimming with positivity for the Asian market. The uptick, measured in units, mainly comprises light models: H125, H135 and H145. The region that contributed the most was Asia.

Market growth will drive a requirement for nearly 22,000 new civil and para-public helicopters globally over the next two decades, almost doubling the current fleet, Airbus’ new study predicted. The aircraft manufacturer, in its 20-Year market forecast – similar to the Global Market Forecasts produced by its fixed-wing sibling — said a total of 21,822 new commercial rotorcraft worth €125 billion ($147 billion) will be acquired.
