Famed for her recent stint on ITV’s Survival of the Fittest, Jennifer West has taken the fitness world by storm. Along with her identical twin Lucy, Jennifer gives a girly guide to starting out in fitness, no matter how big or small your goals may be. We thought it best to begin this article by telling you who we are and what our experience is with the gym and our own training. We’re Lucy and Jennifer West- better known as ‘The West Twins!’
We’re identical twin sisters and have worked in the fitness industry for five years now but our love for the gym and fitness started a little before this.
Even though we are identical twins, our journeys into fitness have been quite different.
Lucy: “I started weight training at home with some weights from Argos! I did this for a few years before ever really setting foot in a gym. The reason being that I followed a few home workout plans from magazines and fitted in my training around my job when I had time. I had a long commute so this worked into my schedule. Once my twin Jen had competed in her first bodybuilding show, it really inspired me and I knew I wanted to do the same. It was a year and half later that I competed in my first bodybuilding competition- all from training at home. After my competition, although feedback was positive, I didn’t place and knew that if I wanted to be a serious competitor, I needed to train in the gym!”
