As well as helping you wake up in the morning, moderate consumption of coffee and tea may also lower your risk of cognitive decline. In fact, a study of over 350,000 people living in the U.K. found that those who drank two to three cups every day had a 32 percent lower risk of stroke and a 28 percent lower risk of dementia compared to people who drank none.
If you've already suffered a stroke, taking up a caffeine habit now could lower the chances of developing vascular dementia-common among stroke sufferers-by 40 percent.
mRNA Added to the Fight Against Cancer
Due to COVID-19, the world has become familiar with messenger RNA technology, which was utilized by Pfizer and Moderna to make vaccines specifically ones that instruct the body to make a protein that triggers an immune response against the virus. Now, Mayo Clinic researchers are using mRNA technology to help make immunotherapy-a type of treatment that uses the body's immune system to fight cancer-more effective for patients whose T-cells are too weak for the task. Immunotherapy has transformed cancer treatment and has had a great effect with certain cancers, such as advanced melanoma, for which it has improved the five-year survival rate to over 50 per cent today from one in 20 a decade ago.
