You Can be a Writer Too!

Writing has been defined as talking on paper and in modern times talking on a computer screen. It’s an art as well as a craft. like all other arts, such as music, painting, acting, etc. writing also needs some god-given gift, which you may call a ‘flair’ for writing. Everybody has some talent or flair for writing because everybody who is a human has something to express. Try not to express anything for 24 hours and see what happens. Solitary confinement in a prison is the severest punishment given to a convict. He feels like bursting and becomes mentally disturbed. But can everybody write something new, something original? In fact, everybody is original if he tells truth and speaks for himself. Consequently, if you speak or write from your heart you can’t help but be original.

Four Phases of Writing

Different people want to write for different reasons. Some people feel irresistibly called to this path while for others it is just a diversion while doing other things. Whatever the reason, there is a series of phases through which each of them has to pass. These are four phases, namely, intense desire, commitment, immersion, and fulfillment and success.

Intense Desire

Some two-year-old babies want to say something but do not have the right words in their heads and may feel frustrated. New writers have something common with these children. They want to write but don’t find appropriate words. This is called creative urge. But despite your initial discomfort you must start writing as early as possible. Writing is a form of birth and it makes sense that there will be labor pains before delivery takes place. But when the birth takes place there will be greeting and joy all around.
