Imagine walking up to a complete stranger on the street, someone you’ve never even met before, who doesn’t know you or what you’re about and who you’ll probably never see again in your life. Now, imagine having to ask that person whether or not you can marry your soulmate. Imagine having that decision, which deserves to be solely yours, rest on that stranger’s yes or no.

Australia has voted on whether or not I can legally marry my partner, my best friend and, most importantly, the love of my life.
