Goals Goals Goals - John Hartson

IN lifting the 2016/17 title, Brendan Rodgers’ side scored 106 Premiership goals and reached 150 for the season in all competitions.
In this season’s Celtic View, we take a look at some of Celtic’s top goalscorers throughout the history of the club and highlight a few of the moments that added to their standing in the annals of a team known for its attacking philosophy down through the decades.
This week we have John Hartson…
FIRST GOAL, LEAGUE, OCTOBER 20, 2001 CELTIC 5-1 DUNDEE
John Hartson signed for the Hoops in August 2001 and made his debut from the bench against Kilmarnock, but it wasn’t until 10 games later that he got off the mark in front of goal. He did it in style, though, by netting a hat-trick in a 5-1 home league win over Dundee United. The Welshman opened the scoring in the seventh minute and Bobo Balde added another just before the break. Hartson struck again on the hour mark and soon after Jim McIntyre pulled one back for the visitors, the striker completed his hat-trick in the 83rd minute. Shaun Maloney replaced Henrik Larsson in the 63rd minute and took only 60 seconds to score the final goal in the 5-1 win.
LAST GOAL, LEAGUE, MAY 7, 2006 ABERDEEN 2-2 CELTIC
