Even as the first vaccine against Covid-19 rolls out in the UK, one of the main obstacles is not so much the speed, storage, priorities and delivery systems but overcoming the resistance to the vaccine.

Many people across the world have expressed their opposition to taking the jab due to various factors, including concerns about the safety of vaccines, religious beliefs, lack of trust in their health systems or those who, falsely, consider themselves immune or at a low risk of infection.
The pandemic has also resulted in a flood of disinformation as well as conspiracy theories which have undermined confidence in vaccination. In addition to the sheer magnitude of the coming vaccination effort, the vaccines are likely to be only partially effective for a yet unknown period of time.
