IMAGINE A HOME THAT’S cool, calm and free from clutter, a home with enough room for kids to play freely, that has plenty of storage for sports equipment, space for friends and family to stay over, and just 15 minutes’ walk to some of the best beaches in Australia. This dream scenario is reality for Sally and Justin Vardy, and their three young kids. But it wasn’t always so dreamy. When the couple purchased their Byron Bay home six years ago it had seen better days. “The garden was overgrown, and the house smelled pretty bad as the previous tenants who lived there had five dogs,” Sally recalls. “Overall, it was just a bit yuck!&
