Principal architects Sönke Hoof and Khushnu Panthaki Hoof started their practice Studio Sangath together in the late 2000s

She went to school in Baroda while he studied in Germany. Yet, Khushnu and Sönke crossed paths in Ahmedabad in 2003, and have been together since. Life partners as well as professional partners at their practice Studio Sangath, they take us through their journey in this tête-à-tête.

FIRST MEETING

Khushnu was completing her architecture degree at CEPT, Ahmedabad when Sönke arrived there for his thesis on recycling waste as building material. Love blossomed and there was no turning back after that. "Our love for architecture and the way we complemented each other in our thinking brought us together. I think our different backgrounds enrich our conversations and outlook on life," says Khushnu.

After completing their graduation, the duo started working as architects at Vastu ShilpÄa in 2004. Over the years, they became partners and then started their own practice, Studio Sangath.
