Singapore-based Janice Wong serves up incredible interactive art using only edibles
In the Insta age, the visual appeal of food has attained many dimensions – from beautiful to bizarre, with a fair amount of drama thrown in. How about food as art that can be installed on the walls, ceilings, and viewed with all seriousness in galleries and museums? The credit for such a feat goes to Janice Wong, a young Singapore-based pastry chef of formidable repute. Using only edibles, mainly chocolate as her medium, she paints, sculpts and draws, creating incredible shapes and shades, forms and textures. Think marshmallow ceiling, gumdrop-covered walls, sugar corals with canapes, chocolate calligraphy, chocolate tubes sculpture, black and white zen garden...
