Oversize Run-Around Sweater

MATERIALS

• Lion Brand Touch of Alpaca medium (worsted) weight acrylic/alpaca yarn (31/2oz/207 yds/100g per skein): 7 [8, 8, 9, 9, 10] skeins #132 olive

• Sizes K/101/2/6.5mm and J/10/6mm crochet hooks or sizes needed to obtain gauge

• Tapestry needle

GAUGE

Post st pattern with size K hook: 12 sts = 4 inches; 11 rows = 4 inches

In side panel pattern: 3 dc rows = 4 inches; 8 sc rows = 4 inches

Diamond strip with size J hook: 21/4inches across

Take time to check gauge.

PATTERN NOTES

Two center panels are made first with a diamond panel assembled to each edge of center panel. Bust area of sweater is worked on top of assembled center panel with 2 diamond panels and split to work shoulder sections. Both completed panels are then joined at the shoulder. 2 side panels are worked next and assembled to 1 edge of front and back panel on each side. Neck shaping is next with sleeves worked last directly into armhole opening.

Use larger hook unless otherwise stated.

Chain-2 at beginning of row does not count as first stitch unless otherwise stated.

Chain-3 at beginning of row counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.

Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.

SPECIAL STITCHES

Single crochet join (sc join): Place slip knot on hook, insert hook in indicated st, yo, draw up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook.
