Love for fashion, style and dresses proved to be the most fundamental driving force for Amritsar-based Rimple Bhandari to take a plunge in the fashion industry.

“I would say it has been the love for creation itself which motivated me to venture into the fashion designing industry. This is what got me started in January 2008 and ever since then it has been one of the most rewarding journey,” shared Rimple who started small with bare essentials and used to do almost everything by herself. With the passage of time, her clientele grew and so did her staff and ever since then, there was no looking behind.

“What started from Block Printing has grown into one of a kind multi-designer store in Amritsar. Now we not only design custom dresses for our clients but have a great collection of dresses for all occasions from designers like Masaba Gupta & Kiran Uttam Ghosh under one roof,” she further added with a satisfied smile on her face.

HERE ARE EXCERPTS FROM THE INTERVIEW:

What were the major challenges that you had to encounter? How did you overcome them?

Well as a woman, I would say to maintain the balance between work and family has been one of the challenges and I am sure almost every woman entrepreneur will resonate with me. However, the passion for my work has kept me going through tough phases but it would have never been possible without the incredible support of my husband and encouragement from my children. There is an unwritten rule that if you are an entrepreneur then your work timings are all over the place. and this cannot be any truer than it is for the fashion industry. This poses one of the biggest challenges and that is harmony among the staff and one has to keep working in that direction to keep the machine running. But as I have said passion, hard work & support of the family takes you through the demanding times.
