Fashion houses dive deeper into the new-found NFT metaverse as the crypto wave continues to rise.
BURBERRY
Burberry has always been able to find new ways to stay connected digitally. Over the last two years, in celebrating the launch of its exclusive TB monogram collections, the luxury British fashion house has released two endlessrunner inspired online games called B Bounce and B Surf. This year, pushing the boundaries even further, Burberry has jumped into the NFTs bandwagon by launching its first-ever digital items as part of the B Series release. Joining forces with the next-gen game-tech studio, Mythical Game, the NFT collection is available within Blankos Block Party, which is a multiplayer game featuring toys known as “Blankos,” who all live on a blockchain. The digital vinyl toys inherently provide players with proof of verified ownership and authenticity. Adorned with Burberry’s new TB Summer Monogram and inspired by the brand’s Animal Kingdom house code, the limited-edition, limited-quantity Blankos dubbed “Sharky B” can be purchased, upgraded, and sold within the Blankos Block Party marketplace. The brand will also introduce in-game NFT accessories including pool shoes, a jet pack, and more, that can be worn by any Blanko.
