John McEnroe won seven Grand Slam singles titles in his illustrious tennis career. But he’s still best remembered for his epic 1981 Wimbledon meltdown when he bellowed, ‘You cannot be serious!’ after his shot was called out.

The outburst made headlines and was the talk of the Summer, especially as John went on to beat his fierce rival Björn Borg to the title.
