Hugh Bonneville and David Walliams head the all-star cast of a new seaside comedy

If you enjoyed ITV’s Benidorm, you might want to check out Gold’s new sitcom set around a faded coastal town and its colourful collection of characters.

Showing over three nights, Sandylands centres on a fictional British seaside town, and the antics of flamboyant arcade owner Les Vegas (Sanjeev Bhaskar) and his daughter Emily (Natalie Dew).

Emily returns to Sandylands from London for her father’s memorial. Les is missing, presumed lost at sea, but as Emily soon discovers, he’s actually trying to pull off an insurance scam.

Reluctantly, she’s roped into hiding the truth from the Sandylands citizens, including clueless police officer Nathan (Simon Bird), bitter local entertainer Terry (Craig Parkinson), tour guide Tina (Harriet Webb), and Emily’s eccentric neighbours Derek and Jeannie, played by David Walliams and Sophie Thompson.
