The Queen gives Sir David Attenborough a guided tour of the garden at Buckingham Palace

Last summer, presenter Sir David Attenborough enjoyed a private tour of the grounds of Buckingham Palace in the company of none other than Her Majesty the Queen.

The encounter was filmed for this week’s The Queen’s Green Planet, which celebrates new initiative The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy, committed to preserving natural habitats across the Commonwealth for future generations.

Among the famous advocates for the project are actress Angelina Jolie, Boris Johnson and Princes William and Harry, who all appear in the programme.

Sir David and Queen Elizabeth, who were born within a month of each other in 1926, enjoy a leisurely chat as they take a turn around the royal garden, making each other chuckle on quite a few occasions.
