Lily Collins stars as an American woman working in Paris in a chic new drama from the creator of Sex and the City

Darren Star created one of TV’s biggest hits in Sex and the City, and now the US writer-producer is hoping for similar global success with his new Netflix drama series, Emily in Paris.

Les Misérables star Lily Collins – the daughter of rock star Phil Collins – plays Emily Cooper, an American executive from the Midwest who moves from Chicago to Europe when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company and she has to revamp their social-media strategy.

‘Americans have a fantasy about Paris, so the series will be a kind of love letter to the city – like Sex and the City was to New York,’ says Star.
