The elderly residents of an Australian town are restored to their youth in a supernatural drama
-
What would you do if you could live your life again? That’s the intriguing question at the heart of new Australian drama Bloom, which comes to on-demand channel My5 this week.
The six-part series is set in the aftermath of a devastating flood that killed five people in the small rural town of Mullan. A year after the disaster, the townsfolk are still trying to rebuild their lives.
Bryan Brown, best-known for 1980s movies Cocktail and Gorillas in the Mist, plays retired astronomer Ray, who has been forced to move his wife Gwen (Jacki Weaver) into a care facility due to her Alzheimer’s.
Ray’s life takes an extraordinary turn, however, when his ailing pet dog transforms into a puppy after eating the berries from a mysterious plant that has sprung up where people died in the flood.
