Having played plucky Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit film series, Martin Freeman knows all about battling supernatural creatures in an inhospitable land.

The 46-year-old actor is a long way from Middle-earth this week, but he’s in just as much jeopardy in Netflix’s Cargo when he faces a perilous journey across the Australian outback.

Freeman plays Andy,a husband and dad living on a houseboat when a viral epidemic turns most of the world’s population into flesh-eating monsters.
