Keri’s Unborn Child Has No Brain – but She’ll Donate Healthy Organs.
-
WHEN Keri Young got the heart-wrenching news that her fetus didn’t have a viable brain, she made the most selfless decision imaginable.
The courageous mom-to-be decided to carry her daughter to term — and donate her newborn’s organs to babies who need them.
“Choice doesn’t just mean terminating,” said Keri’s husband, Royce Young. “Choice can mean life.” At Keri’s 19-week ultrasound, the Oklahoma City couple was told their daughter was suffering from anencephaly, a condition that causes a baby to be born without parts of the brain or skull.
