This Marilyn Monroe quote can easily be applied to Sonakshi Sinha as well. She’s all oomph and glamour, and like Monroe, struggling to overcome the burden of her sexuality and prove her worth as an actor. Like Monroe, she doesn’t mind being labelled as a siren as long as people respect her as a serious practitioner of her craft. She’s done her share of arm candy roles and even in those she managed to strike her own niche. With Lootera, she gave an advance notice of her amazing capabilities as a performer. She also looked drop dead gorgeous in the film, while being draped in the nine yards, attesting that she can deliver the best of both the worlds. With Noor, she looks all set to repeat that feat. Presenting the seductive diva at her candid best…

Noor has generated lots of excitement...

It’s a film close to my heart. Noor’s very real. She’s similar to a lot of girls I know, even guys for that matter… the behaviour patterns overlap. The character is relatable. While we were shooting the film, Sunhil Sippy, my director, didn’t call me by my name, he called me Noor. So I believed I was her. So when you’re flooded with messages appreciating your work, you feel glad. There have been so many calls, so many messages online ever since the promos have been out. The response has been positive. It’s difficult to describe the feeling.

You sang the promo song MYL with Diljit Dosanjh and Badshah for the film...

Yes, Badshah composed the song. Diljit sung most of it while I’ve sung portions of it. It’s a fun song, a catchy number. I was thrilled to be part of it.
