A personal take from Susie on the reality of romance
“Whatever love is” was the rather unexpected answer Prince Charles gave when he was asked about being in love with his fiancée Lady Diana Spencer. It may not have been the response the public were looking for, and it wasn’t very romantic for that particular moment in time, but of course poets and philosophers have been trying to define what love is for centuries.
In this particular month it can seem that love is all about champagne, red roses and fully booked restaurants, but many of us actively choose not to express our feelings in that way. Alex and I never go out on Valentine’s Day and we tend not to give each other presents either.
