Q. What are the main challenges in India’s engineering education landscape?
A. Today’s biggest challenge in engineering education is to create industry-ready graduates. As per various reports, majority of the engineering students need to be imparted technical and soft skills training before they can be put on job. This is at a considerable cost to the industry. Bridging this gap is a challenge that academia and industry need to address jointly. Another area of concern is the deteriorating quality of education delivered, poor infrastructure and lack of good faculty. Students not really interested in engineering entering the stream adds to the problem.
Q. What are the factors that students should keep in mind while choosing a programme?
