With more over 60 year olds not happy to sit out their golden years in a care home, and instead looking to enjoy a much more active and independent retirement, there has been a massive rise in the popularity of retirement villages – and it’s not a surprise when looking at the facilities they offer up and down the UK.

Many of the most popular retirement villages have a huge range of modern amenities including hair salons, gyms, swimming pools and spas, as well as restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops. Those situated more rurally also benefit from expansive landscaped gardens, and well equipped communal outdoor spaces including tennis courts. With local grocery stores also on site, there will be everything available to meet everyday needs.
