1 CHRISTMAS AT CHATSWORTH Christmas at Chatsworth just sounds magical, doesn’t it? Take in the festive season in the grandeur of Chatsworth House, where no expense will be spared in creating a Christmas to remember for all the family from November 7. Details at chatsworth.org.

2 A FESTIVAL OF CHRISTMAS TREES, CHESTERFIELD What’s Christmas without Christmas trees? With Chesterfield’s famous Crooked Spire the focal point, more than 80 fully-decorated Christmas trees will be on display to get the family well and truly into the festive spirit from November 14. 3 CHRISTMAS GREAT RIDGE GUIDED WALK, CASTLETON Christmas and walking definitely go hand in hand. This popular six-mile yomp, led by a professional guide, begins at Castleton and follows an easy route to the stunning Mam Tor. 4 CHRISTMAS WREATH MAKING AT CROMFORD MILLS If you’re into your arts and crafts and want the satisfaction of having your very own homemade Christmas wreath hung proudly on your front door, this one is for you – all with a lovely ambiance of background festive music and refreshments provided.
