Give us a little background about yourself...

Presently, I am pursuing music and looking after the activities of the Church Ministry. Also, I am the Vice-President of ‘Jesus Is Lord’ Ministries, which was founded by my father, Pastor Paul Silway, some twenty years ago. Besides, I am an avid foodie and a sports car enthusiast. My favourite pastime is creating new music with my band, watching Hollywood movies (with good content), spending good quality time with my family, and engaging into a lot of spiritual activities.

Despite having a repertoire of career options to choose from, what made you pursue the field of music?

I developed an interest for music at a young age. I vividly remember, when I was just five years old, watching a band performing on stage. I was thoroughly impressed with the drummer, and the passion with which he was playing. I wanted to do something similar in life. At the age of nine, I started learning the keyboard; I remember practising for many hours as a kid. Slowly, I joined the church choir and started playing the keys in the church.

Over a period of time, I started singing. I used to get the opportunity to sing only when the lead vocalist didn’t turn up for certain events at the church. Nevertheless, my talent and interest for singing started developing while I was a back-up artiste for vocals. I improved with time and slowly from a back-up vocalist I became the main lead vocalist in the church. From that time on, I never looked back once. I think my passion for singing has led me to explore the wonderful world of music.

It is important for an individual to have family backing, in order to progress in his/her chosen career. What role did your family play in nurturing your talent?
