River Yamuna

It originates from the Yamunotri glacier which is in the Banderpoonch peak of the Himalayas. Yamunotri glacier is at a height of 6387 meters.

Yamuna travels for 1376km! In this long journey, it crosses several states. It flows through Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. On the way, the river is joined by its own tributaries such as Tons, Chambal, Sindh, Betwa, Hindon and Ken.

Yamuna creates natural state borders between Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand states and also between Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
