Trust is the cornerstone of any relationship. When trust is broken the consequences can be dire, as successful New York therapist Grace Fraser (Nicole Kidman, Celeste Wright in drama series Big Little Lies, 20172019) finds out in new drama thriller The Undoing. Celeste’s husband Jonathan (Hugh Grant, William Thacker in romcom movie Notting Hill, 1999) goes missing after Elena Alves (Matilda De Angelis, Ambra in the Italian sitcom Tutto Può Succedere, 2015-2018) is found bludgeoned to death. Jonathan is a suspect and when he returns home, Grace’s life falls apart as hidden truths are revealed. “Who can you trust and can you trust yourself? This is at the heart of the show,” says Danish producer Susanne Bier (director of the 2018 Netflix horror movie Bird Box).
