Priyanka Chopra: 'I Am Not A Method Actor.'

Since mid-2015, the paparazzi have been going gaga over Priyanka Chopra’s Western getaway, and why not? After all, she has made India proud on Western shores. From bagging an American television series to a film opposite Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, Priyanka has done it all with poise and panache. Add to it the series of international covers and other tags and accolades she has been presented, she is obviously the reigning star of the Hindi film industry. From presenting an Oscar to dining with the who’s who of Hollywood, our Desi girl is on a roll and is making waves. A great 2015 and 2016 have her really happy, and she shares her joy.

2015 was a successful year for you, as you were nominated in both films you were a part of. How did you straddle two varied characters with such finesse?

I have played 25 characters in one year. I do only different kind of characters, I don’t like repeating roles and I usually do a lot of films in a year. I have found a method. I’ve realised that I am not a method-actor; I am very spontaneous and instinctive. I create characters which I know so well that I can enact any scene and know how a particular character will behave because the characters are like my best friends. It’s not difficult for me to jump from one character to another. Also, I love what I do, so I want to do a lot of it.

Your film Baywatch seems to be shaping up well, but do you think the Censor Board in India will allow the film to be released the way it is made?
