JP Dutta Is A Close Friend And If He Comes To Me With A Movie, I Simply Can't Say ‘No!'

What made you choose Paltan?

Sometimes, in the industry, there are things above money and cheques. After doing movies like Refugee and Border, I needed to do this film. JP Dutta is a close friend and if he comes to me with a movie, I simply can’t say a ‘NO’. In Paltan, I have a cameo. It’s the role of the Commanding Officer. I have always shared a great relationship with JP and this is one of the films which I did without giving a second thought to the script.

In 1997, you played Andy Bajwa, the charismatic Air Force officer in Border. How different is this role from that of Border?

The only difference is that I was flying in the air in Border and in Paltan, I am commanding from the land though Ladakh is high up in the mountains.

Shooting in picturesque locations of Ladakh and Chandigarh is a visual treat, but how gruelling was it for the actors especially in Ladakh?
