I Feel A Very Deep Emotional Attachment Towards Paltan

Tell us something about your film Paltan and your role in it specifically?

Paltan is based on the India–China 1967 war. Even today, most of the people are unaware about this infamous war. If the war wouldn’t have taken place, then the areas around Assam would have been unsafe and affected. This war is the reason why people still are currently residing there in peace. This movie can be considered as a biography of those heroes, which had not been told to the public until now.

I’m playing the character of a hero who sacrificed his life in this war. There is an odd feeling when you realise that the ones who have actually sacrificed their lives for our country are not even recognised today and that is why I am playing this role in the film. My dad was in the army and I studied in an army school. I was born in an army hospital and was raised like an army kid. I had seen my dad in army uniform ever since the day I had opened my eyes. For me, the army is like my family. I had been a very big fan of JP Dutta sir ever since he created Border. I really love that movie. Back in the days, we would all sit together as a family to watch Border. All of us were enthralled by his work and appreciated his accurate knowledge of the army. I don’t even remember how many times exactly I had watched the movie.
