Kyle Richards says her fans describe her as ‘the normal one’ among the ladies that star on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and we’d have to agree they’re right on the money.

The brunette, who has been a cast member since RHOBH’s inception in 2010, cruises around in a Lamborghini, vacays on private jets, and has just moved into a $10.7 million mansion once owned by legendary singer Smokey Robinson. But when it comes down to it, the 48-year-old is about as down-to-earth as the often outrageous and outspoken cast come. ‘I’m a tough cookie sometimes, but I’m really emotional and really sensitive,’ admits the mum-of-four, who will celebrate her 22nd wedding anniversary with high-end real estate agent Mauricio Umansky at the end of January.

The former child star credits her family for keeping her grounded. ‘Planes and yachts are nice, but happiness starts at home,’ she explains. However, it hasn’t always been smooth sailing on the relos front. Over the years, she’s had epic dramas with her older sister and ex-RHOBH co-star Kim Richards. Since the earlier seasons of the show, Kim, 53, has been struggling with substance abuse issues, and while she’s now sober, Kyle recalls their tense feuds as the worst time she’s experienced on the show.

‘There were times when [Kim] would say things and in order to defend myself, I would have to say something that I didn’t feel comfortable saying, so I wouldn’t defend myself at all. It was difficult. That’s when I felt the most misunderstood and the most frustrated,’ she reveals. ‘[You think], “I don’t want to do this,” but you find the good outweighs the bad.’
