Sushma, you and Ashish had a true love story going before you married...

Sushma: “I feel like they could make a great Bollywood film on our love story! I met Ashish for the first time when I was 16 and he was 17, while he was visiting family in Bombay. We had a brief three-week romance which sadly ended with him going back to Toronto. Now, those were pre-internet days; the letters which he wrote to me, got lost in transit. Then, four years after our initial meeting, I bumped into Ash at Indigo and we decided to meet for dinner. We were both seeing other people at that point and had nothing in common. We parted ways thinking we would never meet again, but five years after this second meeting, we bumped into each other at Indigo again! This time, we met for dinner and spent six hours chatting! We met every day for the next week. The kicker in all this? I was engaged to be married to a man I had dated for six years. On our third date, Ash proposed to me knowing fully well that I was engaged to another man, saying: “You are the woman I am going to try to marry.” Unknown to me, the poor guy would keep visiting the Singapore airlines office at the Taj hotel to change his flight back to Toronto as he was slated to leave two days after I met him, for a job interview. On the seventh day, he was informed that there were no more seats available for a month! He proceeded to call up his boss in Toronto to say he’d met the girl of his dreams and would not be returning for his interview!”
