TRAGIC comic Norm MacDonald had a secret reason for keeping his battle with the deadly cancer that killed him hidden for nine long years.

The 61-year-old Canadian finally succumbed to the disease on Sept. 14 after keeping the truth about his condition private for nearly a decade.
Sources say Norm, famed for his deadpan delivery as Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update anchor from 1993 to 1998, wanted to keep working and feared that if people knew about his cancer, he’d get pity instead of laughs.
