Worcester positions itself as the ‘care capital of South Africa on account of the many institutions based there that cater to blind and/or deaf people. But it’s much more besides. One of the main drawcards nearby is the Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden, set against the Langeberg mountain range and the Keeromsberg peak (often snow-dusted in winter). The garden is famous for its vygies, profusion of spekboom, and dramatically flowering succulents amid a vast arid area.
CENTRALLY SITUATED
The Habit Guest House in Porter Street, Worcester, is around the corner from the imposing NG Church in a historic quarter of the town.
The Habit is the ideal base from which to explore the Boland, and the Worcester Historic Walking Route is a good place to start, as it includes The Habit. There are also many mountain bike routes and mountain trails in close proximity. However, The Habit’s elegant and comfortable rooms, beautiful garden, and inviting pool are so alluring that staying in is no less of a pleasure.
