Bijay Krishna Shreshta, Chairman and Managing Director, Toyoda Gosei South India Private Limited (TGSIN) says the company is focussing on human resources development with training program.
How has been the last year for the company in India? How do you look at this year?
Last year was good for us. We could expand our business to Renault which we considered as one of the milestones towards not only product manufacturing but also playing a key role in product design and process development with French major.
Open-minded approach and trust are most important in supplier and customer relationship. We have been jointly working with customer to optimise the company performance through innovative ideas, kaizen and value engineering concept, as well on cost reduction activities. This resulted in TGSIN being recognised by Toyota Kirloskar for being one the best cost performer and Best Value Engineering (VE) companies. I am proud to inform that we supported our customer supplier development activities such as Cost Management System and Safety Cluster activity. We have also initiated activities towards establishment of Design centre for interior & exterior parts, with technical expertise of our parent company.
This year, we are experiencing weakened demand in the market. We are utilising this opportunity to improve our systems and strengthen our operations, by more resource rationalisation, thereby improving our efficiency and become competitive to garner future business. Innovation in technology and products, strategic marketing and Smart manufacturing are the key for future business growth. We are focusing on human resources development with training program in India and overseas to improve their skills as part of Skill India. I strongly believe in supporting the cause of Make in India, by increasing our tool and product development locally.
BS VI regulations are to be implemented from next year. How are the Indian automotive & industr is getting ready for it?
