Though there are no restrictions from the government on introducing 100% offline mode, the university follows a hybrid education model, says BB Kotturshettar, Head, School of Mechanical Engineering, KLE Technological University

SKILLING AND RE-SKILLING NEEDS OF RESOURCES ARE ACKNOWLEDGED SWIFTLY

Talent transformation has been a continuous process prevalent for the last 75 years of our existence in the educational sector. First conceived as BVB College of Engineering in 1947 and rechristened into KLE Technological University very recently in 2015, the legacy of proactive change methodology to meet higher benchmarks that challenge our growth process has been our organizational hallmark. Our stride in the educational domain is guided primarily by the key sensitive changes in the industry, academia, and technology front.

The policy of KLE Technological University to seek valuable inputs from its stakeholders and translate them into fruitful actions has been adopted well by the School of Mechanical Engineering in its drive towards excellence. The responsive mechanism of the school has put in place several structures to help drive the transformational changes of curriculum design/redesign. The growth-oriented action plan of the school instills specialized verticals, supported by appropriate pedagogical interventions, to strengthen the learning process through practice-oriented activities.

Almost all the courses are delivered thoroughly to students in one or more experiential, contextual, and situated learning environments. The emphasis in laboratories is to develop experimental investigation skills among students through structured inquiry and open-ended challenges. The integrated learning experience is offered to students at the course and semester level, followed by senior design and capstone projects at the seventh and eighth semesters.
