HP Inc Steps up Post the Split
October 2016

While the split allowed competitors to marginally bump into its market, in no time HP Inc swung into action, and surprised its peers by reinventing and reclaiming what belonged to it. Even in India, the company is fast cruising forward with an array of new products and big deals. Read on...
HP Inc (HPI), which made headlines for its split from Hewlett Packard Enterprise last year, is cruising smoothly on its reinvention journey. The company has consolidated its leadership in personal systems by a huge margin while continuing its lions’ share position in printing business in India. But that’s not all. HP Inc in India is exploring new territories of business growth through innovative business solutions and a clear road map to participate in Government’s Digital India initiatives. The recent results show that HP Inc is succeeding with innovative plans and strategies to become the most appreciated company in India.
POST-SPLIT HP INC INDIA
The company announced its split from 1st of August last year whilst the listing on stock exchange for two legal companies happened on 1st of November 2015.
“Because HP was the parent company, it was easy to manage and do business from a customer perspective. When a company’s name is changing along with its structure and operations, one needs to get contracts with the customers done differently. But since we had the parent company, it became easy for HPI to serve customers and partners seamlessly,” says Rajiv Srivastava, Managing Di- rector, HP Inc India.
There was a lot of buzz in the market that HP Inc will cut out employees in the name of restructuring. About this, Srivastava had quite a different explanation, “in the separation there were a lot of processes that had to be taken care of within the company. People had to be separated out into two companies. Their salary structures, benefits, compensation had to be taken care of. But every employee continued with us as the company has not stopped from operating but split into two...we are not sort of stopping the business. We are a continuity and need to make sure that the processes run smoothly. I think that is going on very well.”
