In an exclusive dialogue with Commercial Design, Koheli Puri and Jitendra Puri, Directors, STUDIOXP, discusses the firm's design ideologies and its conceptual genesis
-
Please give us a brief insight into your journey in establishing Studio XP as one of India's leading design firms.
If our journey is to be defined, it cannot be without expressing our gratitude towards our clients. Today, we are working with some of the most eminent national and multinational corporates pan-India, and our equation with the industry is based on mutual trust and respect. We have always wanted to see ourselves as a premium brand amongst the corporates, and we are continuously upgrading our skill set and creativity to excel in every way. Our design philosophy has always been simple yet vivacious - a space where one would love to come back every day to have a better day. Developing a timeless design with creativity, honesty, and passion is the basic principle of our firm, STUDIOXP. This is the primary reason we formed our company over 12 years ago and still continue to have the freshness of our designs alive.
What is the basic brief that underlines the foundation of the company's design approach for its workplaces?
The company embraces a holistic design approach while creating workplaces, recognising that the physical environment profoundly influences employee well-being and productivity. The design ethos prioritises a harmonious blend of functionality, aesthetics, and employee-centric elements. Open and collaborative spaces encourage communication and idea-sharing while also providing secluded areas for focused work.
Natural light, ergonomic furniture and biophilic elements are thoughtfully integrated to enhance comfort and connection with nature. The company also seeks to reflect its values and culture through design, utilising colours, artwork, and spatial arrangements that reinforce its identity. Flexibility is a key principle, with adaptable layouts that accommodate changing needs and promote agile working.
