When Karan Johar’s ‘Student of The Year’ hit the theatres in 2012, we were introduced to what would eventually become Bollywood’s fresh, raw and talented power trio. Alia Bhatt who played the character of Shanaya Singhania in the romantic-drama film, is now one of the highest paid actresses in Bollywood and has achieved much in a short span of time. Varun Dhawan who essayed the character of Rohan Nanda with his dreamy looks and boyish charm makes us flock to the theatres, time and again. However, among the three, Sidharth Malhotra or Abhimanyu Singh in the film was the star that shone the brightest. Our eyes were glued to our screens, predominantly for him. He had stolen our hearts without us even realising it and as we drew close to the end of the film, it was hard to deny that we had already fallen in love with him — ishq wala love.
