Tesla’s India launch seems to have moved a step closer to reality with the pioneering EV maker taking steps to expand its leadership team in the country and set up its sales infrastructure. The world’s most valued carmaker is looking to bring Model 3 cars to India by July or August for testing, sources in the know told CNBCTV18. In fact, three of Tesla’s Model 3 cars arrived in Mumbai the past month. Backend work to launch the Tesla Model 3 in India by the end of 2021 is currently underway. The first cars are being brought in for testing, Automotive Research of India or ARAI approvals and for other compliances.
