Go! Camp & Drive

When you’re taking everything with you – including the kitchen sink – you may end up driving forever. Well, you can do just that with the Motorhome-World Discoverer 4.

Destination Unknown

There’s an unwritten rule and a tacit understanding – among campers that when you’re young, you don’t mind what you’re sleeping in and therefore a small two-man tent is sufficient, whereas when you’ve climbed the ladder of succes, and have done the hard yards towing and camping with road caravans and off-road trailers, you can now look at a motorhome. Not that everyone can afford a motorhome, despite their different variations and spec levels, which is why you can rent one from the likes of Bobo Campers, who stocks Motorhome-World vehicles.

Their popular Discoverer 4 model was updated this year and is now in its fourth version – having first been introduced to the world all the way back in 2001.

Comfort break

The Discoverer comes with a full bathroom that’s immediately to the left as you enter. The toilet has a cassette below it and is right against the left wall.

Above that is a toilet paper holder and then there’s a little corner shelf to the right for toiletries. The basin is against the front left corner, with a toothbrush holder just above it.

The wall to the inside of the motorhome has a large mirror, and next to that is the showerhead.

Water drains in the corner below the mirror. There’s also a shower curtain to pull across the door.

They don't know what we know

Despite technological advances, and the unrealistic notion held by some that camping is merely a way to show off, the heart of the lifestyle should remain unchanged, says Neels van Heerden.
