When Porsche decided to scale down their SUV to a size that was easier to handle back in 2014, they hit it out of the park. If you thought they’d done a good job of making the Cayenne handle well, the Macan was at an astonishing level. Not surprisingly, it was Porsche’s best selling car in 2018. The India story did not quite add up though, mostly because they hadn’t done the math properly. What they ended up with was a faster, better handling and almost as expensive an SUV as the Cayenne, which meant people simply continued to buy the latter. By the time they tried to put a band-aid on the problem with more accessible versions of the Macan, they had lost everyone’s attention. Porsche hopes to have a second crack at it with the 2019 variant, although there are a few differences now.

This time around Porsche has tried to switch things up, although there wasn’t much that needed changing in the Macan. That is possibly the reason why you need to look close to notice that the 2019 Macan has a couple of new elements. The front remains pretty much the same, but gets a new design for the four-pint DRLs, and full-LED headlamps. The grille and the air dams have been tweaked and new alloys designs introduced for the 20 and 21-inch wheels. You even get side plate trims and mirrors that you can customise to match your style. Porsche has also updated the tail-lamp to an LED strip that runs the width of the tailgate to keep in line with the new design trend that is seen on the rest of the range.
