Keep them coming

The year 2022 is going to see Indians getting more options as far as cars are concerned. Right from the SUV to the hatch and even the sedan will make a significant comeback. So what are these cars and what are they going to offer? We list out the most significant cars which you will be able to buy this year.

VW VIRTUS

Just as we have seen with the Skoda Kushaq and the VW Taigun, VW will launch the Virtus sedan which will be VW's version of the Skoda Slavia. The Virtus is expected to be launched by the first quarter of 2022 with aggressive pricing. The Virtus will be based on the same MQB-AO-IN platform. The new sedan will be offered multiple engine options. The more affordable variants will be equipped with the 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol. The higher variants are going to get the brand's 1.5 TSI Evo engine. A standard six-speed manual gearbox will be on offer, but for buyers opting for more convenience, Volkswagen will offer an automatic gearbox in a few variants.

Features such as cooled seats, an all-digital instrument cluster, and a single pane sunroof are likely to make their way into the car. Expect it to have similar connected tech as the new Taigun. Volkswagen India has trademarked the name Virtus, which is most likely the new name of this new upcoming sedan and might be carried over to other markets as well.
