Audi E-Tron Coupé Ready For 2019

Futuristic EV concept car unveiled. 429bhp and 800Nm of torque

THE second of Audi’s three electric cars that will be on sale by 2020 will be a production version of this new e-tron Sportback concept. Audi unveiled it at the Shanghai Motor Show, but Auto Express was given exclusive access to the newcomer ahead of the show, with lighting designer Cesar Muntada showing us around the car.

Confirmed for production in 2019, the concept will enter what Audi is calling a ‘completely new segment’ for fully electric coupé SUVs. The Sportback will follow Audi’s first pure electric car, the e-tron SUV, which arrives next year. The Sportback will sit alongside that model as a style-led alternative, in the same way the A6 saloon and A7 Sportback sit side-by-side.
