Technical Workshop
ABOVE: yet to be sanded to shape are the new mounting lugs welded onto the rim of the bellhousing at the three and nine o’clock positions. Above in the eleven o’clock position is where an existing Nissan bolt hole was weld filled and redrilled closer in to match the willys bolt position. At the one o’clock position there was enough flange width to drill a new Willys matching hole but I welded reinforcement on the outer edge to bolster it just in case. Final step will be to bolt this bellhousing to a rotary table on the milling machine and use a fly cutter while the housing is rotated under it to cut the surface flat so it is parallel to the face that mounts against the pump housing.
