My name is David Group and I live in Centennial, Colorado. I am a freelance airbrush artist and my subjects range from animals to portraits. I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I learned about graphics and offset printing and worked as an image prep (stripping) for a small print shop until the personal computer and the boom of technology almost put an end to the offset printing process. I dabbled in digital art, photography, and graphics, but in the last 10 years I have devoted all my time to painting with air brushes.
When I was young, I discovered Robert E. Howard and his series “Conan the Barbarian”, as well as the art of the incomparable Frank Frazetta and Boris Vallejo. The art of Jean Giraud a.k.a Moebius, Roger Dean, Hajime Sorayama, MC Escher, Alberto Varga, Olivia de Berardinas, Patrick Woodruffe, Frank Cho, Mitch Byrd Phillip Castle and certainly Dru Blair…(the list is too long), are all my artistic, inspirational heroes.
