The Trial Of Christmas Shopping
This time last year, neighbour Jan and I went to the city to buy Christmas presents for our wives. We had visited a lady’s underwear shop, where the salesperson had looked askance at us, wondering which of us was buying what and for whom!
“What’s your size”? she had asked me coyly. Jan and I had both gone red, before escaping from her giggles.
A few days ago, we found ourselves in the same mall with the same dilemma: what could we buy for our wives? Jewellery, perhaps? We found a shop offering generous discounts.
