Gentle giants have returned to Hermanus, our feature town, and there are a number of amazing festivals scheduled to take place in the next few months all in celebration of these amazing beasts of the ocean. We met some amazing women in Suurbraak, a tiny little historic village in the middle of nowhere. Tiny travels amount to much anywhere in the world and the Overberg is no exception. This community is destined for great things, and the inhabitants are determined to restore their piece of paradise, so be adventurous - take that turn-off, you never know what you may find.
With winter in full swing we went in search of delicious food to warm our bellies...and hearts. Who doesn’t love delicious hot toffee pudding dressed in creamy custard? We found this dream pud along the glorious Hemel-en-Aarde route while doing a wine-tasting tour with the genius that is Wine Flies. It was exhausting moreish work!
